- Texas Cash Five is drawn six days a week and puts up a fixed jackpot of $25,000 each time.
- In Cash Five, you are required to select five numbers from 1 to 35.
- Draws take place at 10:12 PM CT from Monday to Saturday, with tickets available until 10:02 PM each night. It costs $1 per play.
- There are four different prize categories. To win, you must match at least two out of the five numbers. All the payouts are fixed, starting from a free Quick Pick for matching two numbers to $25,000 for matching all five.

Cash Five History
Cash Five was originally styled as ‘Cash 5’ when it launched ahead of its first draw on October 13, 1995. It was a 5/39 game, with draws taking place twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Two more draw days, Mondays and Thursdays, were added in November 1996.
On June 29, 2002, the lottery was rebranded as Cash Five and the format tweaked again, with players now required to pick five numbers from 1 to 37. Wednesday and Saturday draws were added to the schedule, and a prize for matching two numbers was introduced.
The ball pool was cut from 37 to 35 on September 23, 2018, while the fixed prize structure was also introduced.
How to Claim a Prize
If you win a Cash Five prize, you have 180 days to claim it. The procedure for claiming prizes of different values is shown below:

You can claim prizes of this value at Texas Lottery retailers. You can also visit any claim center in the state, or mail in your signed winning ticket. If you are mailing in your ticket, you also need to fill out a claim form for any win of $25 or more. The address to mail claims to is as follows:

The very biggest prizes in Texas can only be processed at specific claim centers or the Austin office, but Cash Five jackpots can be claimed at any site. There are claim centers in Abilene, Amarillo, Beaumont, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, Laredo, Lubbock, McAllen, Odessa, San Antonio, Tyler and Victoria, plus the head office in Austin.
