Virginia Pick 4 Overview
Virginia Pick 4 offers the chance to win prizes of up to $5,000 by matching four numbers from 0 to 9. You are required to pick four numbers from 0 to 9 and select your play type. You can also choose your play amount for most types - either $0.50 or $1. The different play types are as follows:
- Exact Order: Predict the order of the four winning numbers. If it's not exactly right, you do not win. For example, if you select 1, 2, 3, 4, and the numbers are drawn as 1, 4, 2, 3, you lose.
- Any Order: Select which numbers you think will be drawn. You need to get them all right to win, but the order is irrelevant. For example, if you select 1, 2, 3, 4, and the numbers are drawn as 1, 4, 2, 3, you win.
- 50/50: This splits your play between Exact Order and Any Order. If the numbers are drawn in the order you predict, you win both parts of the prize. If they all appear, but not in those exact positions, you just win the Any Order portion of the prize.
- Combo: Pick four numbers, and every possible combination of those digits will be entered as separate Exact Order plays.
All prizes are fixed amounts. The larger amounts are available for those play types where it is less likely to win. Another option in Pick 4 is Fireball, which doubles the cost of a play but considerably improves the chances of winning.
